Dubrovnik: King’s Landing
According to GoT Executive Producer David Benioff, “The minute we started walking around the city walls we knew that was it. You read the descriptions in the book and you come to Dubrovnik and that’s what the actual city is.”
Klis Fortress: The City of Mereen
Enter the reign of Daenerys Targaryen, the mother of dragons. The fortress of Klis is located just a few miles from Split. With its breathtaking view, it’s just the right place for our beautiful queen.

This landmark in Split is where the “kill the master” scene takes place in Season 4. It was also used for Daenerys’ throne room and the dungeon where she kept her dragons.

The island of Lokrum was a stand-in for the city of Qarth near the Jade Sea, which Daenerys visits all the way back in Season 2.
